Roseanna is a long-hair, spayed Calico. She is approximately 4 years old and has been declawed. Roseanna was brought to Moore Humane Society by her owner along with an orange tabby who has since been adopted. Their owner decided he no longer wanted either of them. Roseanna had once been allowed to live in his home until her owner decided to put her outdoors. After she had been living outside for four months, he decided to surrender her to us.
When Roseanna first came to Moore Humane Society we noticed that she would become easily irritated. We decided to have her examined by a veterinarian to see if a medical problem could be causing her erratic behavior. X-rays revealed that Roseanna had a bullet lodged in her rib cage. She was also suffering from chronic constipation (a fairly common problem in cats that can lead to serious problems if untreated). By switching Roseanne to a cat food formulated to alleviate hairballs, her problem has been corrected.
Understanding Roseanna’s past experiences makes it easy to love on her when she feels comfortable and to give her space when she needs it. We believe that Roseanna’s loveable side will blossom once she is removed from the stresses of shelter life and back in a quiet home of her own.
